Quick question on sport pyschology How do you control negative thought before or during an event?

I love running but sometimes I get negative thoughts like you know how the mind can try to convince you that you will not play well etc. I find the best way is to ignore it or replace it with positive thoughts....curious to know how others handle it.Quick question on sport pyschology How do you control negative thought before or during an event?
Psychology plays an important part in elite athletics.

It has been proved that visualization before an event will improve your performance.

So, instead of allowing negative thoughts to crowd your mind, think about the race and see yourself doing very well.

After you warm up and are relaxing before the start, picture the race from start to finish and control your performance, that is, see yourself winning and setting a pr.

You should do this as part of your meditation after the warm up and before reporting to the start line.
