Where do you get repeat prescriptions of the birth control pill from?

I always feel like I'm just wasting the doctors time and I hate going there, can I just go into the pharmacy and get it? Lat time I went she mentioned something about a nurse that you're meant to see?Where do you get repeat prescriptions of the birth control pill from?
you cant actually get a repeat prescription youhave to see the doc or your nurse, they have to check blood pressure as the pill can cause high blood pressure!! i know what you mean it feels like a waste when your not actually ill!Where do you get repeat prescriptions of the birth control pill from?
I don't think you can, you have to go back to your doctor cos you have to have a blood pressure check
to get a repeat prescription u need to be checked over for the usual bloody pressure and weight, but as long as your healthy and the doctor feels your responsible enough they should be able to give u a years supply at a time. that's what happened with me anyway
Why not ask the doctor for repeats on your prescription when it is written? That will save you time and money too.
I just call the pharmacy and order them. If I have no repeats,I still call the pharmacy and order them, but the pharmasist then has to call my doctor to get more repeats.
For birth control, you just need to see your MD once a year for a pap smear. You doctor get give you up to a year's worth of refills on a birth control prescription. You can always get your doctor call in the prescription to a pharmacy.
You have to get repeat prescriptions from the Dr or Nurse so they can check your Blood Pressure, Weight, etc.
your G.P will do it for you at your next appointment or if you go to a family planning clinic they usually give you a few months at a time.
You can ask for a repeate prescription from your doc or the pharmacist, and it's free, so in an emergency, you can just rush to the nearest pharmacist.
I can only get mine (Yasmin) from a doctor although I can fax them to request a repeat prescription so I only have to physically go in once a year.

Most pills though you can get from the family planning clinic - and most doctors surgeries run these clinics.
Go to your local Family Planning Clinic, that is the best place as all usual checks are made and that what its there for, so you won`t feel awkward
Generally pill prescriptions are only issued in conjunction with a medical contact. This is because there must be a number of checks carried out at each visit, if it is being done properly. These include blood pressure and a weight check.

Do not feel you are wasting an appointment.
you have to get a repeat prescription from the doctor. every so often the doctor has to check your blood pressure and things before they will give you another prescription, but if you phone the surgery they may be able to take your prescription request over the phone.
There should be a nurse at your doctors surgery ring and make an appointment with her. They do not do repeat prescriptions as you have to have you blood pressure and weight checked regularly when you are on the pill
The surgery nurse can do a pill check if you don't want to see the doctor, but you still have to go the doctor's surgery. They have to check your blood pressure etc every 6 months which is why you have to make an appointment, and cannot get a repeat from the chemist.
I believe only a doctor can prescribe the pill so you can ask your doctor but you should be getting a year's worth of prescriptions and then get a check up including a pap smear.
I always have to go to the gp. they like to check blood pressure every time I go.
