What is a good source for the gun control debate?

I'm writing a paper debating why guns should remain legal. I have great sources for my argument, but I need a good source for a counter-argument. I've searched my libraries databases, and all over the internet but can't find anyone who knows what their talking about. Does anyone know a good article debating that guns should be made illegal? What is a good source for the gun control debate?
The problem of the anti gun argument is this, there is no rational for banning them other than an emotional one. Any of the statistics used will in the long run show that banning guns has no measurable effect on crime. In fact, if you look at the stats, banning guns just increases crime. As one other noted, look what happened in the safe, gun free environment of Columbine. The shooter knew that their victims would be unarmed and made their plans accordingly. As yourself this question, when was the last time you heard about someone walking into a police station and shooting 15 or so people before being eliminated? The answer is heavily armed places are safer than gun free zones. What is a good source for the gun control debate?
Pro-gunner here. I have the same issue. I need to write a gun-control essay for my senior project, have tons of sources, but have absolutly no counter-arguments that aren't either, ';Why do you need a gun?! We live in a nice area!'; or some twisted statistic like, ';You are 22 times likely to injure a loved one with a gun than a criminal';

I find it best to, instead of exhausting your resources looking for the hypothetical anti-gunner that knows what they're talking about, dismantle the most common counter-arguments.

From what I could find? Try countering:

-What do you need machine-guns for?

-What if someone steals the guns?

-What about straw-purchasing?

-Why do you need a magazine capacity greater than 10?

-What if someone pulls the gun out of your holster while your carrying?

-What's wrong with backround checks?

-What's wrong with waiting periods?

-What's wrong with micro-stamping?

-What's wrong with gun-free zones?

-What's wrong with requiring gun owners to lock their guns up to keep them from children?

It's gonna be hard. Really, the only thing you can do is attempt to address as many of the short-thoughted come-backs as you possibly can. I've converted people away from their anti-gun beliefs by simply countering their short-minded, hollywood and media induced arguments for 15 minutes lol.
Here are some very good resources. In at least one instance the author's original intent was to prove that gun control equates to crime control but during the course of his research he changed his mind.

Point Blank: Guns and Violence in America by Gary Kleck

Armed: New Perspectives on Gun Control by Gary Kleck and Don B. Kates

Targeting Guns: Firearms and Their Control (Social Institutions and Social Change) by Gary Kleck

More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun-Control Laws by John R. Lott Jr.

The Bias Against Guns: Why Almost Everything You've Heard About Gun Control Is Wrong by John R. Lott

I will warn you that much of this is dry reading but these are the most in depth studies on gun control ever done in the US and while the works have their critics it has also been duplicated at various universities.

Good Luck
Google The Brady Campaign, or Mothers Against Gun Violence. Both of these bleeding heart liberal groups have arguments why guns should be illieagal. Penn %26amp; Teller also had a great show on guns. If you want to got there, you may want to check out Bowling For Columbine.
I dont know a specific article, but if one is still up, you could try a camaign website
COLUMBINE.
